Silhouette Match on Competition Range

Silhouette Matches on the Competition Range are from September through May and take place every second Saturday of the month.  They are currently scheduled for 9/12/26, 10/10/26, 11/14/26, and 12/12/26.    Set up start at 8:00 and the matches start at 8:30 am. Competitors may shoot smallbore, bigbore, and pistol cartridge. 

Matches are for iron-sight lever action (i.e. cowboy) tube-fed rifles. Smallbore and pistol cartridge targets are located at 40, 50, 75, and 100 meters while bigbore targets are located at 50, 100, 150, and 200 meters. Shooters take 10 shots at each steel animal in a standing position before moving to the next. Points are awarded for knocking the animal off the rail. 40 rounds of ammunition are needed for each relay. 

This is one of the easiest competitions to get started in – you only need a lever gun and ammo.
