SUMMARY:Silhouette Match on Competition Range
DESCRIPTION:Silhouette Matches on the Competition Range are from September through May and take place every second Saturday of the month.  They are currently scheduled for 9/12/26\, 10/10/26\, 11/14/26\, and 12/12/26.    Set up start at 8:00 and the matches start at 8:30 am. Competitors may shoot smallbore\, bigbore\, and pistol cartridge.  \nMatches are for iron-sight lever action (i.e. cowboy) tube-fed rifles. Smallbore and pistol cartridge targets are located at 40\, 50\, 75\, and 100 meters while bigbore targets are located at 50\, 100\, 150\, and 200 meters. Shooters take 10 shots at each steel animal in a standing position before moving to the next. Points are awarded for knocking the animal off the rail. 40 rounds of ammunition are needed for each relay.  \nThis is one of the easiest competitions to get started in – you only need a lever gun and ammo. \nFree for SCGAA Members. $15 for Non-Members. \n

SUMMARY:Benchrest Competition
DESCRIPTION:Benchrest Competition on Competition Range takes place every second Sunday of the month.  They are currently scheduled for 9/13/26\, 10/11/26\, 11/8/26\, and 12/13/26. \nWe shoot all year including summer. Start times during DST\, April-Oct. are 9:00AM set up with hopeful first rounds at 9:30. Start times during EST\, Nov.-March are 10:00AM set up with hopeful first rounds at 10:30AM. \nWe typically shoot Benchrest score using the NRA Hunter Targets. For smallbore\, we shoot at both 100 and 50 yards using the 200 yard target at 100 yards and the 100 yard target at 50 yards. \nFor centerfire\, we shoot at 200 yards and 100 yards. You can shoot either rimfire or centerfire – your choice. \nWhile our shoot is just for fun\, a scope is a virtual necessity – no limit on power\, the more the better! Front rest and rear bag also a must for best accuracy. \nAt each distance\, 15 shots are fired plus unlimited sighters in the lower right target (300 point match). Sometimes if time and interest permit we will double the match shooting 2- 15 round courses at each distance (600 point match).
