SCGAA offers a number of firearms safety training programs, competition events and youth programs that are available to the public as well as club members. Many of these are provided at no cost as a public service. If you are interested in taking advantage of our services, contact us via phone or email for details and scheduling.
NRA Certified Firearms Safety Courses - We have several NRA certified instructors for different firearm disciplines that periodically offer classes.
Hunter Safety Courses - We have certified instructors for the Florida Hunter Safety course. Registration is through the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission in Ocala, NOT SCGAA. Call 352-625-2804 Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM to register, or do it on-line at my FWC.
Scout & Youth Events - SCGAA hosts a scout Youth Fest twice a year which provides opportunities for young boys and girls to learn safe shooting habits with 22LR rifles, shotguns and black-powder rifles. They also learn archery and have educational sessions on American Indian crafts, wildlife conservation and more. If your child is in a scouting program (or you are a scout leader), contact us for more information. We also will host individual troops if requested.
Competitive Shooting Sports - SCGAA hosts many competitive shooting events throughout the year. Please check our event calendar for times and dates.
Eddie Eagle® Program- SCGAA sponsors the use of the NRA Eddie Eagle® youth firearm safety training program in various Seminole County schools. This program is an effective method to teach young children to Stop!, Don't Touch, Leave the Area, Tell an Adult when they encounter a firearm. We offer materials and instruction for interested schools, day care centers or camps in the Central Florida area.
