With prior Board approval, certain Club Approved Activities or Matches may be temporarily be exempted from certain rules.
General Range Rules
- Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
- Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
- Always keep guns unloaded until ready to use.
- Always be sure of your target and what is beyond.
- No unattended fire arms at any time! Each shooter is responsible for their own equipment!
- Shooters are allowed only one loaded firearm at any time. Firearms must be on a firing point and the range hot before loading. Keep all muzzles pointed downrange at all times!
- No firearms may be handled or even present during the hours of a work party activity. Leave them in your vehicle.
- A cold range means firearms are unloaded and clips or magazines removed and actions must be open. Do not handle or even touch any firearm, magazine, clip, or ammunition during a cold range under any condition. Block the action open with a fired cartridge case if there is no bolt catch.
- Move firearms to and from your vehicle only when the range is hot. Move them unloaded, with the actions open and muzzle up.
- Members are required to wear their badges at all times.
- The instructions of a Club Officer or a Range Safety Officer (RSO), while on any range, are final and must be followed immediately!. Any grievance with their decision should be presented, in writing, to the Safety Director. Do not debate or discuss while on the range
- Hearing protection is mandatory for everyone, eye protection is required for minors and highly recommended for adults.
- Minors (17 and under) must be supervised by an adult at all times whether on the firing line or elsewhere on Club property.
- All quick draw shooting is prohibited at all times. All cowboy action shooting is prohibited at all times.
- No night shooting. Shooting hours are sunrise to sunset 7 days a week.
- No alcoholic beverages or illegal substances. If you are taking any medication, which may impair your abilities,
do not come to the range.
- No cross-range firing on any range. No ground shots.
- Fire from the firing line only! Do not move forward of the concrete or back from the shooting tables.
- The membership badge/electronic key are SCGAA property and issued to you. Do not loan your key/badge to anyone. If any one is found with your badge/key it will be confiscated and not returned. The violator may be charged with Felony Armed Trespass.
- Malfunctioning, defective, or illegality modified firearms must be removed from the range immediately!
- No Pets allowed at any time.
- Pick-up, clean up and properly dispose of your used targets. If your trash will not fit in the trash drums,
take it back home with you. This is your Club, leave behind only your footprints. If you see trash, pick it up, even if it does not belong to you. Please remove all old targets from the backboards even if you did not put them up.
- Dispose of all miss-fire and damaged ammo properly. Dud boxes are provided on all ranges.
- Do not climb on the berms or backstops for any reason. Ranges on either side may be hot. In addition, soil erosion must be kept to a minimum per Florida DEP and U.S. EPA regulations.
- Any willful destruction of any Club asset will result in immediate expulsion from the Club and/or criminal prosecution.
- All members must sign in with the electronic keypad on the gates. [Don't follow someone through, pass your badge by the sensor.]
- No incendiary, tracer, or exploding targets or ammo may be used on SCGAA property.

Additional Rules for Public Day
- Public shooting starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM on the first Sunday of each month. Unless you have a membership badge in full view or you are the signed-in guest of a member, you must leave promptly at closing.
- Holstered firearms are prohibited!.

Rifle Range Rules
- Centerfire rifles only, except .22 rimfire rifles, hunting and silhouette handgons are allowed at 100 yards only
- Targets must be placed on the club provided backboards only! Do not shoot at the uprights!
- Paper targets only.
- This is a slow-fire, aimed-shot range. All shots must impact the backstops.

Plinking Range Rules
- All shots must be fired into the backstop! No ground shots!
- The shooter furnishes all targets. No glass, hard plastic, metal, ceramic, masonry, appliances, computer parts, car parts, butane bottles, aerosol cans, paint cans, hazardous material of any kind. Just about everything is prohibited, except tin soda pop cans ( NO BEER CANS), plastic soda pop cans, and biodegradable clay pigeons! Shooters are responsible for cleaning up!
- All targets must be placed on the earthen bench in front of the backstop, Do not place targets on the backstops.
- Shotguns (no slugs) may be patterned on the far right side only! Shooters must furnish their own stands! All pellets must impact the backstop!
- Shooter supplied wooden target stands may be "short placed" in front of the 50 foot backstop. However, they must be at the correct height to insure all bullets will impact the backstop! No ground shots or high shots! PAPER TARGETS ONLY when doing this! DO NOT USE CLUB STANDS!
- No full auto before 4:00 PM on public day.
Note: This is the only range where rapid fire is allowed!

Training Range Rules
- Firearms are permitted only during formal training with a designated range safety officer present.
- Certified NRA Instructors, Youth groups, ROTC groups, Police Explorers, Ect. are encouraged to use this range.
- Jimmy Peagler will coordinate all training scheduling call 407-365-4648.
- A ladies-only training session will run 9:00 AM to noon each public day.
The Training Range was built for scheduled formal firearms training only! Do not use it for any other
reason.

Pistol Range Rules
- The Pistol range is intended for conventional pistol shooting, including both center-fire and rim-fire
cartridges. Center-fire rifle and shotguns with slugs only (no scatter shot) shooting is permitted on the left side only, at 25 and 50 yards for initial sighting-in purposes only. Limit your "sighting-in" to just that; use only those shots necessary to get "on the paper". Do not destroy the backboards!
- Paper targets only!
- Targets must be placed on the Club provided backboards only! Do not shoot at the up-rights.
- This is a slow fire, aimed shots range! All shots must impact the backstops.

Silhouette Range Rules
- A Club Approved Silhouette Range Master must be on duty to use this range!
- This range is designed for center-fire and .22 rim-fire pistol silhouette shooting only!
- Silhouette targets must be placed only at club-approved points only! All shots must impact the backstops!
- Provided that they do not interfere with silhouette shooting activities, .22 rim-fire rifle shooting is allowed
in limited areas.
- Do not shoot center-fire rifles at any silhouette target!.

Shotgun Range Rules
- Damascus shotguns are PROHIBITED on SCGAA property.
- Rifles, pistols and revolvers are prohibited on this range.
- Shot shells with larger than 71/2 shot and magnum loads are prohibited.
- Anyone operating any thrower shall stand to the rear of shooters. This rule does not apply to the person operating
the trap house.
- Tracking targets with a shotgun, while waiting to shoot is prohibited.
- Except for sponsored matches and/or supervised shooting, only one shell may be loaded in the gun at one time.
- A gun may be loaded only when the shooter is on the firing station and the gun must be empty when the shooter
is moving from station to station. All shooters will remain on the firing station until the trapper calls "unload and move".

Archery Range Rules
- All range rules and range commands for firearms apply to the Archery Range..
- No firearms of any type permitted
- Do not stand or place any targets or objects on top of the backstops.
- No plinking type materials.
- Targets must not exceed 3 (three) feet above ground level.
- No ttree stands. Do not climb trees.
- No broadhead points (hunting arrow points). Field points only.
- Stay on the west side of the retention pond.

3-D Archery Range Rules

- No firearms of any type permitted
- Do not stand or place any targets or objects on top of the backstops.
- No plinking type materials.
- Targets must not exceed 3 (three) feet above ground level.
- No ttree stands. Do not climb trees.
- No broadhead points (hunting arrow points). Field points only.
- Place all 3-D targets towards the east.
- Must enter and exit the 3-D area from the east side of the retention pond.
